New Delhi: SS Rajamouli's 'RRR' created history by winning the Best Original Song for 'Naatu Naatu' at the Golden Globes. While everyone is anticipating the same for the Ram Charan, Jr. NTR film, 'RRR' failed to get a nomination by the Producers Guild of America. Earlier, 'RRR' failed to get a nomination at Directors Guild of America (DGA). Chances for films like 'Top Gun: Maverick' have increased with the nomination by Producers Guild of America. Other films which have been nominated include Steven Spielberg's 'The Fabelmans', 'The Banshees of Inisherin', 'Everything Everywhere All At Once' and' Tár'.
All five films also managed to be nominated by the Directors Guild of USA on Wednesday. 'The Fablemans' and 'Banshees' also won big at the Golden Globes earlier this week.
'Naatu Naatu' has also been shortlisted for the 95th Academy Awards. It will be known on January 24 if the song makes it to the nomination list.
Adding to the excitement of his fans, Ram Charan has said that if RRR goes on to win the Oscar he will dance his heart out with Junior NTR.
The popular actor said in an interview that they would again dance for 17 times if the movie bags the Oscar. He was referring to the number of takes shot during the shoot for the song.
Meanwhile, 'RRR' is a popular choice among audiences in the USA and has amassed a great fan following. Despite being released on Netflix, the film was also released in theatres in the USA on popular demand to fully-sold theatres.'RRR' also released in Japan and is still running in theatres there. 'RRR' has created history in Japan by becoming the most-successful Indian film to be released in theatres.
The official nomination list for Oscars will be announced on January 24, 2023.
