New Delhi: Director SS Rajamouli 'RRR' has been nominated for the 2023 Golden Globe Awards. The action-drama has received nominations in two categories: Best Foreign Film and Best Original Song. The popular song from the movie, Naatu Naatu, has been nominated in the latter category.


On Monday, the Golden Globes' official Twitter account posted,"Congratulations to the nominees for Best Picture - Non-English Language--All Quiet on the Western Front, Argentina, 1985, Close, Decision to Leave and RRR".






Later, the post was retweeted on RRR's official Twitter account. 






"Best Original Song – Motion Picture--Carolina, Taylor Swift (Where the Crawdads Sing), Ciao Papa, Guillermo del Toro & Roeban Katz (Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio), Hold My Hand, Lady Gaga and Bloodpop (Top Gun: Maverick), Lift Me Up, Tems, Ludwig Göransson, Rihanna and Ryan Coogler (Black Panther: Wakanda Forever) Naatu Naatu, Kala Bhairava, MM Keeravani, Rahul Sipligunj (RRR)," in a following tweet, the Golden Globes announced.


Out of a handful of other Indian entries, including 'Gangubai Kathiawadi', 'Kantara', and 'Chhello Show', only 'RRR' made it to the top five.


The pan-India hit movie 'RRR', which is based on the lives of real-life rebels Komaram Bheem and Alluri Sitarama Raju, has gained popularity among audiences worldwide and made new records at the box-office.
