New Delhi: The stars of 'Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani', Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt, are basking in the success of their recently released film. On the second Saturday after the romance drama's premiere, its box office revenue considerably surged. 'Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani', directed by filmmaker Karan Johar, was released in theatres on July 28.
On the ninth day of its release, the film brought in over Rs 11 crore nett, according to Sacnilk.com. Early estimates show that 'Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani' earned Rs 11.50 crore nett in India on its ninth day. This brings the movie's overall earnings to Rs. 90.58 crore. The movie brought in Rs 11.1, Rs 16.05, and Rs 18.75 crores in each of the first three days after its release in India.
In the meantime, Karan Johar attended a press conference for the film on Thursday together with the main cast and crew, where he answered all of the media's and viewers' questions. He confessed at the press conference that he had once bought his mother a bra, just as shown in one of the sequences in the movie.
“I’ve gone shopping for her (mother) to buy a bra and it’s never been a problem with me. But I do know that while I did it there were friends, who were with me and were horrified that I was actually doing this and why I wasn’t designating this job to a female friend of mine. And I was like, ‘Why?’ It was asked by my mother, so why would I send somebody else to do it?” he said.
'Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani' features Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in the main roles. The movie chronicles the romance of its titular pair, who come from quite different cultures. Dharmendra, Shabana Azmi, and Jaya Bachchan are among the other actors who appear in the movie.
