Rani Mukherji Starrer Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway Witnesses Steady Growth, Zwigato Underwhelming At Box Office

'Mrs. Chatterjee Vs. Norway' made a revenue of over Rs 2.89 crore on Sunday.

New Delhi: 'Mrs. Chatterjee Vs. Norway', a poignant movie starring Rani Mukerji, made a revenue of over Rs 2.89 crore on Sunday. The movie, which grossed Rs 1.27 crore opening weekend, has now made a total of Rs 6.42 crore over its first three days in theatres.

Trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to share the recent numbers at the box office and wrote,"#MrsChatterjeeVsNorway goes from strength to strength with each passing day… Momentum on Day 2 and 3 is a positive indicator… National chains dominate… All eyes on weekdays… Fri 1.27 cr, Sat 2.26 cr, Sun 2.89 cr. Total: ₹ 6.42 cr. #India biz."

Rani portrays an immigrant woman engaged in a protracted court battle with the Norwegian government to regain custody of her children after they were placed in foster care.

The review of the film on ABP Live reads: "The plot is quite dense, there is barely a moment of pause in the screenplay to sit and reflect on what is going on. There is one bomb after the other which is dropped in the form of child welfare services, corruption, racism, domestic violence, unhappy marriage etc etc. And, thankfully, as an audience we are left to uncover the what, why, how of the plot along with the lead character of the film. The literal and metaphorical spoon feeding the audience is thankfully absent in Mrs. Chatterjee Vs Norway'."

Meanwhile, Kapil Sharma starrer social drama 'Zwigato' has witnessed an increase in box office revenue after a somewhat lacklustre start. As per Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the film is getting praises from the audience.

"#Zwigato finds appreciation from its target audience, but the #BO remains lacklustre… Although biz did improve on Day 2 and 3, the overall 3-day total is extremely low… Fri 43 lacs, Sat 62 lacs, Sun 79 lacs. Total: ₹ 1.84 cr. #India biz," he wrote.

On the day of its release, Rani Mukerji's 'Mrs. Chatterjee Vs Norway' and Kapil Sharma's 'Zwigato' competed at the box office (March 17). Prior to its theatrical release, 'Zwigato', which also stars Shahana Goswami, had its world premieres at the Toronto International Film Festival, Busan International Film Festival, and International Film Festival of Kerala.
