New Delhi: Ranbir Kapoor, who will next be seen in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s 'Animal', gave his fans an update about Brahmastra 2. The actor starred in 'Brahmastra Part One: Shiva' along with Alia Bhatt, which was released on Septemeber 9 2022.
Ranbir interacted with his fans during a live event and shared that Brahmastra 2 is 'heavy into writing' and the film is in the development stage. “So Brahmastra 2 is heavy into writing. We are working on it all the time, it was just last week that Ayan narrated the film to me. Ayan has gone ten times bigger than part 1, his idea, his thoughts, the characters. He is working on War 2 right now, so the plan is to finish War 2 by mid-next year and we start shooting hopefully by the end of next year, or the beginning of next to next year. But definitely, there's a lot of work which is already happening on the film in the writing process,” he said.
The actor also spoke about the criticism the film received and said that the team had taken the criticism positively. "We have really understood the kind of criticism we got for the film. What worked for it and what didn't work for it. So we want to put everything into consideration. From the dialogues or people saying that Shiva and Isha's chemistry was somewhere missing... There was a lot of criticism that was constructive so we are taking that into our stride, and trying to understand that and kind of go beyond that,” he said during the session.
Drawing inspiration from tales in Hindu mythology, Brahmastra Part One follows Shiva (Ranbir) an orphan musician with pyrokinetic powers who discovers that he is an astra, a weapon of enormous energy. He attempts to prevent the strongest of the astras, the Brahmastra, from falling into the hands of dark forces that share a history with him.
The film collected over Rs 400 crore at the worldwide box office.
