Mumbai: Bollywood actors Rajkummar Rao and Varun Dhawan took to social media to express displeasure over the choice of words used by a YouTuber against Arunachal Pradesh MLA Ninong Ering. The social media influencer has been booked for using ‘racial slur’ against the Congress legislator.

Rajkummar, who was last seen in ‘Roohi’ opposite Janhvi Kapoor, re-posted director Amar Kaushik’s post on his Instagram story and slammed the YouTube for his racist remarks. "Not Acceptable. I agree Amar Kaushik," the ‘Newton’ star wrote.

Amar, who worked with Rajkummar in ‘Stree’, also lashed out at the YouTuber for using a ‘racial slur’ to address the MLA in his video.

“Being ignorant about your own country and its region is stupidity itself, but when that ignorance is expressed offensively, it becomes toxic. We all need to call out and condemn such ignorance in one voice and make all idiots understand that it is not acceptable anymore,” his post read.

Varun Dhawan wrote, "Having spent so much time in Arunachal Pradesh, it's time we educate ourself and others about how wrong this is."

According to a report in PTI, the Arunachal Pradesh government has filed a case against Paras Singh for ‘racial hatred’. The YouTuber had shared a video wherein he addressed Congress MLA Ninong Ering as a ‘non-Indian’.

Paras Singh received flak for reportedly claiming that ‘Arunachal was a part of China’. He shared another video to apologize for his remarks, which sparked a furore on social media.

Arunachal Chief Minister Pema Khandu condemned Paras Singh’s actions and said that the video aimed at ‘inciting ill will and hatred’ towards the people of the state.

“Based on the video that aims at inciting ill will and hatred towards the people of Arunachal Pradesh, @ArunachalPolice has already initiated action,” he tweeted. The YouTuber was arrested by Punjab Police after a case was filed against him under various sections of the IPC including 124A, 153A and 505(2).

Talking about Rajkummar Rao, the ‘Ludo’ actor will be next seen in ‘Badhaai Do’. The comedy drama, which is the spiritual sequel of ‘Badhaai Ho’, also stars Bhumi Pednekar.  The 'Bareily Ki Barfi' star also has 'Hum Do Hamare Do' in his kitty.

Varun will entertain the audience in 'Jug Jugg Jeeyo' and 'Bhediya'.
