New Delhi: Rajkummar Rao started his Bollywood career with an uncredited appearance of a newsreader in Ram Gopal Varma’s political thriller ‘Rann’. The talented actor then made his official debut with Dibakar Banerjee’s 2010 movie ‘Love Sex Aur Dhokha’ and since then, there was no stopping for the actor in growing as an artist. He gave the audience some extraordinary and spectacular performances as an actor with ‘Newton’, ‘Shahid’, ‘Kai Po Che!’ and many others. Rajkummar Rao received the ‘National Film Award’ for ‘Best Actor’ for his performance in ‘Shahid’.

The super-talented actor is now all set to essay the role of a PT teacher for his upcoming movie Chhalaang releasing on Amazon Prime Video. Ahead of its release on November 13, Rao revealed that he was a dramatics teacher at a school in Gurgaon before his acting career took off.

The actor said, “The call center had just started coming up in Gurgaon and alot of my friends had joined call center jobs and I was not really good with language.”

Thinking about a way of earning an extra picket money he further adds, “So I thought what should I do everybody making extra pocket money I was in second-year college? Then I thought let me do what I love so I just joined the school called KV public school in Gurgaon sector 14 - then I did 1 play for their annual day function. I was there for 3 months then I focused on myself and learnt.”

“Students love me because we were pretty much their age. there was not really age difference. So they treated me like a friend”, added the ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’ actor.

His upcoming film ‘Chhalaang’ has been produced by Ajay Devgn, Luv Ranjan, Ankur Garg and presented by Bhushan Kumar. Directed by Hansal Mehta, this movie also stars Nushrratt Bharuccha. Saurabh Shukla, Satish Kaushik, Zeeshan Ayyub, Ila Arun and Jatin Sarna can be seen in pivotal roles.
