New Delhi: Tamil Superstar Rajinikanth expressed concern over the violence in several parts of the country over the Citizenship Amendment Act 2019. The ‘2.0’ actor said that violence should not become a way to find solution for any problem. He further said that the ongoing violence in India gave him ‘great pain’.

"Violence and rioting should not become a way to find a solution for any issue. I request the people of India to stay united and vigilant keeping in mind the nation's security and welfare. The ongoing violence gives me great pain," Rajinikanth said in a tweet on Thursday late night.


Although, the ‘Petta’ actor condemned the violence, he didn’t speak up on the CAA protests. His reaction received mixed responses on social media. While some users supported him for opposing violence, others slammed him for remaining silent on CAA.

Several users questioned Rajinikanth for remaining silent on the CAA row. The ‘Kaala’ actor, who had earlier announced that he would contest the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, received flak on the micro-blogging site for his silence on the issue.






Several Bollywood celebs including Farhan Akhtar, Swara Bhasker and Mahesh Bhatt joined the protestors in Mumbai’s August Kranti Maidan on Thursday (December 19). The tinsel town celebs took part in the demonstration against the Citizenship Amendment Act along with several other people.
