New Delhi: Veteran actor Rajinikanth, who was admitted to Hyderabad's Apollo Hospital on Friday (December 25) due to fluctuations in blood pressure,  was discharged on Sunday (December 27). The 'Petta' star's blood pressure has been stabilized and he is feeling better, the hospital said in a press release. Earlier in the day, the hospital authorities gave an update about Thalaiva's health and said that there is nothing alarming in the test reports.

Rajinikanth had isolated himself after crew members of his upcoming film tested positive for COVID-19. The shooting for 'Annathe' was suspended after the crew members were diagnosed with the virus. The 'Kabali' actor, who tested negative for Coronavirus, was hospitalized following fluctuations in his blood pressure.



What Doctors Said About Rajinikanth's Health?


"In view of his improved medical condition, Rajinikanth is being discharged from the hospital today. His blood pressure has been stabilized and he is feeling much better," the statement.


The 70-year-old has been advised complete bed rest for a week. The doctors have also suggested him to avoid performing any activity which increases the risk of contracting COVID-19. The makers of 'Annathe' will have to further postpone the shooting as the superstar is not expected to return to the sets anytime soon.


"He has been advised complete bed rest for one week and minimal physical activity. In the view of of his condition, he has also been counselled to avoid any activity that increases the risk of contracting coronavirus," the hospital said in a medical bulletin.

Rajinikanth's fans and well-wishers prayed for his speedy recovery after they got to know about his ill health. While some fans extended their good wishes to him on social media, others offered prayers for his well-being. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister E Palaniswami spoke to the actor on phone and wished him quick recovery.


On the professional front, the '2.0' actor was last seen in 'Darbar', which released on January 9, 2020. Rajinikanth had earlier announced that he would launch his political party in January 2021.
