Raima Sen, who has appeared in many critically-acclaimed movies such as Nil Nirjane, Chokher Bali, Antar Mahal, Bong Connection, is coming up with her next political-romantic thriller Bollywood project ‘Anya- the other’.

The film, which is directed by Dr. Simmy Joseph, will see Raima opposite Atul Kulkarni and Bhushan Pradhan.

The movie is about how an ambitious journalist (played by Raima) landed up in trouble while shooting a documentary on drug mafia.

“I am open to new and challenging roles, which I have never played onscreen,'' the Bengali beauty said. Raima will soon be seen in the Bengali web series Hello. ''Hello 1 was super successful and people loved it a lot.  We have made the second season due to popular audience demand. Hello is the first web series that I have done and it was great and the response was so good that the creators asked me for the second season,'' Raima said.

Here's the plot of the film!

In the movie, Rama Sen’s character (Divya) is a documentary filmmaker who decides to sell her movie clips for an exchange of money to a newly floated national party. Anya tells the story of how a documentary movie team, who at the beginning were saleable products in the hands of power and money, transformed themselves at the end and decided to embark on a thorny path of truth for the betterment of society.

Praising her co-star Atul Kulkarni, Raima said, “He is a fabulous actor and it's always great to work with one, he helped me a lot while shooting.”

Simmy, Director of Anya said, “No doubt, Raima Sen is an amazing actress, who knows her job well. The character Divya was safe in her hands.  During the shoot, she has been poised to an ambitious and self-confident journalist. It was a great experience to work with such a talented actress in the first film.”

Anya is scheduled to release on May 2019.
