Mumbai: Did you know global icon Priyanka Chopra would ‘carefully study’ her mother while she was getting dressed to meet guests? The ‘Quantico’ actress took to social media to share an excerpt from her memoir ‘Unfinished’ to wish her mother Madhu Chopra, who turned a year older on Wednesday (June 16).
PeeCee shared a video on her Twitter and Instagram handles along with the caption, “Happy birthday mom. Missing our ritual of celebrating your special day together. Love you loads… see you real soon.”

Although our ‘Desi girl’ couldn’t celebrate her mother’s birthday, she posted a heartfelt message to wish Madhu. Her video featured a throwback snap of her mom and a message, which she wrote in ‘Unfinished’.
“My mother was a combination of intellect and allure. As she would get ready to meet guests, I would study her carefully applying makeup, creams and perfumes and then getting dressed for the evening. Her wardrobe was all color-chiffon saris in floral prints hot pinks, bright oranges, deep reds, golden yellows.",” a piece from her memoir read.
Piggy Chops loved watching her mother apply kajal to her eyes and wanted to be like her someday- 'eloquent and elegant'. "She exuded quiet confidence and total competence - which, together with her natural sense of style, made her magnetic," the text in her clip read. For Priyanka, her mother was always the 'epitome of beauty'.
Hrithik Roshan, Dia Mirza, Sonali Bendre and other tinsel town celebs dropped comments on the post. Dia, who is expecting her first child, wrote, "Happy Birthday Madhu Aunty."

Priyanka's husband Nick Jonas shared a post for Madhu on his Instagram story. He wrote, "Happy birthday to my incredible mother-in-law" while posting a photo with PeeCee's mother.
Priyanka had penned a heartwarming post for her mother and mother-in-law on Mother's Day 2021 on Instagram. She wrote, “I do what I want, where I want, when I want.... if my mom says it’s ok."
