Sonu shared the video on Thursday night in which he mourned the death of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput and said people might soon hear about suicides in the music industry.
Sushant was reportedly battling depression from the past six months and was under medication. He passed away by suicide on June 14.
"The music industry has bigger mafias than the film industry," he said. "Only two companies in the music industry are powerful. They can decide who sings and who doesn't," Nigam said.
Sonu talked about the struggles outsiders face in the music industry and he also emphasised how the next to commit suicide could be anyone from the music industry.
"Main apni music industry se request karunga ki aj Sushant Singh Rajput mara hai, ek actor mara hai, kal ap kisi singer ko bhi soch saktey hai, kisi composer ke barey me bhi soch saktey hai, ya kisi lyrics writer ke barey me bhi sun saktey hai. Ye jo mahol hai humarey music me, ye filmo se zayada mafiya hai. Unfortunately," said Sonu.
He further said he has seen the frustration in the eyes and voice of new singers, music composers, new lyrics writers, and added, "Khoon ke ansu rootey hai kabhi kabhi, agar vo maar gae to apke dil pe ake upar ek bht bada ap par hi prasan chin aega. Be really more kind please." Watch Sonu's video below:
