New Delhi: The Venkat Prabhu-directed film 'Custody', starring Telugu superstar Naga Chaitanya, is about to hit theatres. The actor spoke with police constables in Hyderabad as part of the movie's publicity campaign and engaged them in conversation about his role as a cop in the upcoming film.

One constable applauded the actor for taking on the role of a constable because most heroes in movies tend to play high-ranking cops.

“I am also very excited about the film. It is a role not explored much in recent times. Constables are fresh out of training and they have the fire in them to make a change. The future is in their hands,” the actor responded to the praises.

Another officer spoke about how Naga Chaitanya's movie Tadakha assisted him in overcoming his brain injury during the discussion.

“I like Tadakha very much. In that movie, Sunil is a police officer and he gets his dad’s job. Villains in the film thrash him very badly. After that, you make him fearless. I like that part very much because one year back I met with a bike accident and had a blood clot in my brain and lost my ability to speak. But after watching that cinema, I was impressed and inspired. (Because of the film) I have been able to speak a little bit and run now. Today I am in this stage only because of you,” he said.

Afterwards, a police officer challenged the actor to complete the demanding police training, and Naga Chaitanya easily completed all the duties assigned to him. When he was later asked to perform thirty pushups, the actor didn't even break a sweat.

Besides Naga Chaitanya, the film 'Custody' also stars Keerthy Shetty, Arvind Swami, Priyamani, Sharat Kumar, Sampath Raj, Premji Amaren, Vennela Kishore, and Premi Vishwanath. It will hit the screens on May 12. The film will also be released in Tamil, Hindi, and Kannada.
