New Delhi: During the promotion of Salman Khan’s film ‘Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan’, actor Palak Tiwari, who made her debut with the film, had shared that the 'Dabangg' actor had one rule about how women should dress on the set of 'Antim: The Final Truth'. She recalled that Salman had said that 'all the girls should be covered, like good proper girls'. Palak was an assistant to filmmaker Mahesh Manjrekar for the film. As expected, Palak’s comments became controversial.
Palak has now spoken about her comment in an interview with ETimes and explained the misunderstanding. "[It's] part and parcel of what we do. Also, I'm not really taken aback by it, since I know Salman sir is an extremely understanding individual and he knows me. He knows that I would never say anything malapropos about him, ever. I take this as more of a learning experience. This is the best way to learn, making a mistake [since] I never want to be in that position again. I think it's the most conducive way to learn. I made a mistake, I'll learn and it's something I'll keep in mind for the rest of my life now."
Earlier, the superstar was asked about the same on the chat show 'Aap ki Adalat', where the host Rajat Sharma said he has 'double standard'.
Salman said in Hindi, "There is no double standard in it. I feel that a woman’s body is a lot more precious, so as much as it is covered, I feel it’s better. It’s not a matter of girls, it’s about the boys. The way they look at girls, at your sister, wife or mother, I do not like it. So, I do not want them to go through this.”
He added that when he makes films he tries that such men shouldn't be given the chance to 'stare at the heroine'.
In an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Palak had shared that her mother Shweta Tiwari was pleased that she was working with Salman because of how she was dressing. When asked if her mother cried when Palak first revealed to her that Palak had been cast in 'Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan', she said, "My mother didn’t cry, and that’s the good thing. She was very calm, because she knew I’d be on Salman sir’s set. She was tranquil. You know, there’s a very funny story. She has been very happy with Salman sir, because, like every desi mother ever, she has always been very critical of what I wear. When I was AD-ing with Salman sir on Antim, Salman sir had a rule: ‘every girl on my set, the neckline should be here, all the girls should be covered, like good proper girls’.”
Palak is the daughter of actor Shweta Tiwari, who was also the winner of Bigg Boss 4, hosted by Salman.
