Oppenheimer vs Barbie: Which Movie To Watch As Per Early Reviews
In terms of theme and tone, the films directed by Greta Gerwig and Christopher Nolan are completely opposite.
New Delhi: A cinematic frenzy and audience awe have been sparked by the clash between the blockbuster films 'Barbie' and 'Oppenheimer'. In terms of theme and tone, the films directed by Greta Gerwig and Christopher Nolan are completely opposite. Despite this, viewers seem pleased with both films for various reasons. The films are receiving a lot of overwhelmingly great reviews.
'Barbie', a film by Greta Gerwig that also includes America Ferrera, Kate McKinnon, Issa Rae, Rhea Perlman, and Will Ferrell, stars Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling as Barbie and Ken. The fantasy-comedy explores the difference between the Barbie and Ken dolls' fantasy world, which is geared towards women, and the real-world, nuanced realities. Barbie has gloomy ideas about dying, which causes her flawless pink world of fashion to come crumbling down in the movie.
Meanwhile, Christopher Nolan's 'Oppenheimer' is an adaptation of the Pulitzer Prize–winning novel American Prometheus by Kai Bird and the late Martin J. Sherwin, which is based on the life of nuclear physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer, widely known as the 'Father of the Nuclear Bomb'. In the massive biopic, actor Cillian Murphy is portraying the role of J. Robert Oppenheimer. Matt Damon, Emily Blunt, Robert Downey Jr., Florence Pugh, Jack Quaid, Benny Safdie, and Rami Malek are all featured in the movie.
And you can pick which movie to see first by checking the early reviews of both films. Here are the reviews for 'Barbie'.

#Barbie is at its strongest when challenging patriarchy, women’s oppression, & consumerism head on. It doesn’t stick every landing, but the sharp comedy is such a fun ride that most viewers won’t mind some of the minor shortcomings. My (2nd) latest review https://t.co/cg8k5KexKQ

As a man, I don't think giving my opinion on the movie politics would be valid in anyway. So, I'm just gonna say this is the most theatrical movie I've seen in awhile. Wes Anderson would drool seeing the production design of Barbie Land.

“Barbie catapults Gerwig into the upper echelon of filmmakers working today; a once-in-a-generation talent that is destined to become one of the greatest directors of all time.”

the #BarbieMovie is actually a ken movie bc it's also actually about toxic masculinity, which i did not expect at all. the result is astounding and well worth seeing, if only for the conversations you'll have with your pals after. my review for @polygon: https://t.co/FrdoeFExGZ

Check out the early reviews of 'Oppenheimer'.
#Oppenheimer Review: CHRISTOPHER NOLAN’S MASTERPIECE. A bold, tragic look inside humanity’s darkest hour. Riveting, world-class performances & breathtaking imagery that blows a load of emotion inside you. Not just another biopic, it’s the best historical movie ever! A fitting end pic.twitter.com/JRhUwVNpOH

Imagine if Nolan took the writing/editing urgency of The Social Network and fused it with a beautiful but harsh invasion of visuals a la Terrence Malick. The result is OPPENHEIMER. Holy fucking shit, it is a thunderous epic about politics, loss of empathy, and impending doom. pic.twitter.com/KL1AsbWQJU

A quick summary of the reviews of French critics who saw OPPENHEIMER yesterday:

- Everyone agrees that the film is very dense, perhaps the most dense of Nolan's filmography, but that it remains easy to understand, unlike Tenet.
- Ludwig Göransson's score is so extraordinary… pic.twitter.com/PUlhj7wvoL
#Oppenheimer is Nolan's exploding masterpiece. Murphy exudes a reserved performance with detail and depth. A ticking time bomb story of human emotion and history. RDJ gives one of his best performances and Emily Blunt excels in her role. Techs wow. I'm blown away. 10/10 #review pic.twitter.com/VBC9TcxEy5

#Oppenheimer. Holy wow. This may be Christopher Nolan's best film. No actor is wasted, and three hours fly by like nothing. Constantly compelling, an expert storyteller in his element. Full review to come, I'm DEFINITELY buying tickets to see this in IMAX 70mm. pic.twitter.com/6mLF2t7bXu
