New Delhi: Akshay Kumar shared the teaser release date of his long-awaited satirical comedy 'OMG 2', which will be dropped on Tuesday, July 11. The actor posted a brief clip from the movie on Instagram along with an announcement that the teaser will be released this month, one day after Shah Rukh Khan releases the "preveu" of 'Jawan'.

In the video posted, Akshay could be seen walking through a crowd of onlookers while they chanted "Har Har Mahadev." The actor was depicted in the video sporting a wig, blue paint on his neck, and ashes put on his forehead to resemble Lord Shiva.

Sharing the post, Akshay wrote, “#OMG2Teaser out on July 11. #OMG2 in theaters on August 11."

According to a source who spoke to Pinkvilla, the teaser will be attached to 'Mission: Impossible 7', although it is anticipated to be released digitally. “Akshay Kumar and team are ready to start the campaign of their August 11, 2023 release, Oh My God 2 with a teaser launch. The same teaser will be attached to the prints of Mission Impossible 7 across the country from July 12. The teaser has been certified ‘U’ with a runtime of 1 minute 34 seconds," a source said.

The 'OMG 2' posters, which feature Pankaj Tripathi, Yami Gautam as a lawyer were released last week. Akshay played the part of Lord Krishna in the first movie, but in the sequel, he appears to be playing Lord Shiva.

Viacom18 Studios and Akshay's Cape of Good Films jointly produced the movie. In 'OMG 2', Arun Govil, who played Rama in Ramanand Sagar's TV series Ramayan, will reprise his legendary role of Lord Rama. The movie will be screened in theatres on August 11 with 'Gadar 2', yet another popular and much-anticipated sequel.
