Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor is in a happy space both personally & professionally. While Shahid's wife Mira Rajput gave birth to their second child, a baby boy named Zain Kapoor, on 5th September, his next film 'Batti Gul Meter Chalu' is also slated to release on 21st September. Also featuring Shraddha Kapoor, Divyendu Sharma & Yami Gautam in pivotal roles, the Shree Narayan Singh directed film is one of the most anticipated film this year. 'Batti Gul Meter Chalu' trailer as well as songs are receiving a good response from the viewers too. Reportedly, John Abraham & Imran Khan were first considered to play the lead role in 'Batti Gul Meter Chalu'.

Speaking about the same, film's story writer Vipul Rawal confirmed the same to an entertainment portal and revealed that he first went to Imran Khan for Batti Gul Meter Chalu. Imran heard the script patiently and liked it. But later, the Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na' actor told Vipul that he cannot do the film due to his direction plans. After which, Vipul approached John Abraham for 'Batti Gul Meter Chalu' lead role.

Speaking about the same, Vipul further told SpotboyE that, "I don't know what happened but John went on to do Parmanu for Prerna. Honestly, I don't know what were the issues between them. Nishikanth Kamath was sitting with John when I narrated the script to John. So, woh bhi nahin hua."

The 'Padmaavat' actor, who is elated with the birth of his second bundle of joy, will soon start shooting for 'Arjun Reddy' remake which is slated to release next year. Also, he recently announced another film which is a biopic based on boxer Dingko Singh's life. To be directed by 'Airlift' director Raja Krishna Menon, the film will go on floors next year.
