New Delhi: Veteran actor Rishi Kapoor breathed his last on April 30, 2020. The ‘Sharmaji Namkeen’ actor was fighting leukaemia since 2018. Loved for his movies and popular for speaking his mind, Rishi Kapoor was one of the best artists in the film industry. And whenever it came to celebrating the festivals, the ‘102 Not Out’ actor would enthusiastically celebrate them.


As, this time of the year, our country is celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi, Rishi ji’s wife Neetu Kapoor shared an adorable throwback adorable picture of the late actor carrying Ganpati idol. Sharing the picture, the ‘Jug Jugg Jeeyo’ actress wrote, “Celebrating in heaven”.

Also, a few days back, on the occasion of Rishi Kapoor’s on September 4, Neetu penned down a heartfelt note remembering her husband. She wrote, “I learnt a lot from Rishi Ji during our last few traumatic years in NYC .. how we celebrated when his blood counts were high .. we dined shopped laughed .. in his lows we just stayed home watched tv ordered in amazing food n still had some wonderful moments in hope that the next round of chemotherapy he would be better .. hope n being strong is what he taught me .. value each day .. we all miss him today !!! I can picture him how excited he would have been for his 69th birthday !! I’m sure he is celebrating with his family up there Happy birthday Kapoor Saab”.



On a related note, Rishi Kapoor’s last movie ‘Sharmaji Namkeen’ will release posthumously. Directed by Hitesh Bhatia, the movie is a light-hearted coming-of-age story of a lovable 60-year-old-man featuring Rishi Kapoor, Paresh Rawal and Juhi Chawla.
