New Delhi: Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui and his family members have been placed under home quarantine after they reached Uttar Pradesh’s Budhana from Mumbai amid the Coronavirus lockdown. The ‘Gangs Of Wasseypur’ actor and his family members reached his hometown after obtaining required travel permission from the concerned authorities in Maharashtra. They were tested for COVID-19 but their reports came out to be negative.

Some reports suggested that the ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ actor travelled to his hometown to celebrate Eid with their relatives. Nawazuddin’s brother Shamas Siddiqui took to Twitter to squash all the rumours circulating on the internet.

Shamas said that their mother is not well and hence they travelled all the way to Budhana. He posted the permission letter and said they went to their ancestral place due to medical reasons.

He tweeted, “Recently, after the death of our Sister from cancer, Our 71-year-old mother is very ill, That is why @Nawazuddin_S had to go BUDHANA with mother and not to celebrate Eid.”

The 'Manto' actor said that his mother got anxiety attacks twice due to the demise of his younger sister. He added that they have followed all the guidelines while travelling to their hometown.

"Due to the recent loss of my younger sister, my mother who is 71yrs old got anxiety attack twice. We have followed all the guidelines given by the State Government. We are #HomeQuarantined at our hometown Budhana. Please #StaySafe #StayHome," Nawazuddin wrote on the micro-blogging site.

On the professional front, Nawazuddin Siddiqui will be seen next in 'Ghoomketu', which is slated to release on Zee5 on May 22. The Pushpendra Nath Misra directorial also stars Anurag Kashyap, Raghubir Yadav, Ila Arun and Ragini Khanna in key roles.
