New Delhi: The Ajay Devgn thriller ‘Bholaa’ has done well at the movie office thanks to positive reviews and audience recommendations. To cap off its successful opening weekend, the film, which premiered in theatres on March 30, 2023, earned a respectable sum in its first four days.
On Sunday, the movie saw a dramatic rise in attendance at all locations, leading to a 13.48 crore at the box office. Throughout the course of its four-day run, the film grossed a total of Rs 44.28 Cr. Next week, ‘Bholaa’ should maintain the interest and expand upon its current success to touch the 100 Cr figure.
Trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh shared the first weekend box office collection of ‘Bholaa’ and wrote, “#Bholaa puts up a healthy score in its *extended* 4-day weekend… The spike on Sat and Sun added strength to its overall total… Thu 11.20 cr, Fri 7.40 cr, Sat 12.20 cr, Sun 13.48 cr. Total: ₹ 44.28 cr. #India biz.”
Meanwhile, ‘Bholaa’ competed with Nani's Dasara in the theatres. ‘Dasara’, starring Nani, is a financial success too. The Srikanth Odela-directed revenge drama has made more than Rs 50 crore in India and is still doing well.
The Telugu movie had a phenomenal opening weekend, bringing in a whopping Rs 38 crore. Although the ticket sales did dip somewhat on Day 2, ‘Dasara’ still outperformed ‘Bholaa’.
The film reportedly made 13 crore nett in India on Sunday and 14 crore nett internationally. As a result, ‘Dasara’ has earned Rs 56 crore in India and Rs 87 crore internationally.
After SRK’s ‘Pathaan’, ‘Dasara’ has become the first Pan-Indian film to have a higher opening weekend.
'Dasara' marked the debut of director Srikanth Odela. Nani, Keerthy Suresh, and Deekshith Shetty play the three main characters in the movie. The Telangana village of Veerapally serves as the backdrop for the revenge drama flick. ‘Dasara’ sheds light on the Singareni collieries' economic situation, political aspirations, and battle for control.
