Hyderabad: Popular South actress Samantha Akkineni took to social media to announce her separation with husband Naga Chaitanya on Saturday (October 2). Rumours about troubles in their marital life were floating on the internet since a long note. Samantha and Naga shared posts on their respective Instagram handles to request the fans and media to respect their privacy. 

The two tinsel town celebs said that they parted ways as husband and wife to ‘pursue their own paths’. They added that they took the decision to split after much deliberation.  

“To all our well wishers. After much deliberation and thought Chay and I have decided to part ways as husband and wife to pursue our own paths. We are fortunate to have a friendship of over a decade that was the very core of our relationship which we believe will always hold a special bond between us. We request our fans, well wishers and the media to support us during this difficult time and give us the privacy we need to move on. Thank you for your support,” Samantha said in her post. 

Samantha, who is a known name in the Telugu film industry, has disabled the comments section. Several celebs including Varun Dhawan, Taapsee Pannu, Kajal Aggarwal. Dia Mirza have liked her post.

When Samantha Dropped Her Surname ‘Akkineni’ From Instagram 

The tinsel town diva set several tongues wagging when she removed the surname Akkineni from her Instagram handle. This added fuel to the speculations about her separation with Naga Chaitanya. Gossip mills were even buzzing with the rumours that Samantha would shift base to Mumbai. However, she refuted the rumours while talking to a fan during an interactive session.

Samantha-Naga Part Ways After Four Years Of Marriage

The two celebs tied the knot as per Hindu customs on October 6, 2017 in Goa in the presence of their loved ones. The duo started dating each other after working in the film 'Ye Maaya Chesave'. They got engaged in Hyderabad during January 2017.

On the professional front, the 'Jaanu' actress was last seen as the main antagonist in 'The Family Man 2'. The web series starring Manoj Bajpayee in a lead role marked the digital debut of Samantha.

The 'Eega' actress has several exciting movies in her kitty including 'Shaakuntalam' and 'Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kaadhal'.
