New Delhi: Akshay Kumar’s latest film ‘Mission Raniganj’ was released in cinemas on October 6. The actor's film had a decent opening, but it is struggling to maintain a grip at ticket counters from Monday onwards. The Film story is inspired by the real-life experience of the late Jaswant Singh Gilla, who led the first successful Indian rescue mission in a coal mine in November 1989.
According to the Sacnilk report, the film earned Rs 1.25 crore on its fourth day in theatres, bringing the total collection to Rs 13.85 crore. On the other hand, Shah Rukh Khan's ‘Jawan’, which has been out for a month, made Rs 1.05 crore on Monday.
‘Mission Raniganj’ had an overall occupancy of 9.23% in the Hindi-speaking market. The film began its run in theatres with earnings of Rs 2.8 crore, which was followed by Rs 4.80 crore on Saturday and Rs 5 crore on Sunday.
Akshay recently spoke about 'Mission Raniganj’ that he is happy that the film brings about a change in society. He told PTI, “We are going through a very nice phase where people are doing all kinds of films and they are working. I have done both kinds of films [content and masala entertainers]. Don’t pressure the film [Mission Raniganj] by thinking that it will do business. I can do that kind of film [commercial] and get those kinds of numbers as well.”
The cast of the film stars Akshay Kumar, Parineeti Chopra, Kumud Mishra, Varun Badola, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Rajesh Sharma, and many more. This film is directed by Tinu Suresh Desai and produced by Vashu Bhagnani, Jackky Bhagnani, Deepshikha Deshmukh, and Ajay Kapoor. The film is the second collaboration between Akshay and Tinu Desai after 'Rustom', which got Akshay his first National Award.
Akshay announced the release of the song ‘Jeetenge’ from his film ‘Mission Raniganj’ on Monday. The motivational song was composed by Arko and written by Dr. Kumar Vishwas and sung by B Praak.
