#MeToo: Yami Gautam, Suniel Shetty, Athiya Shetty, Prachi Desai & other B-town celebs extend their support

New Delhi: Almost after a year the #MeToo movement upended Hollywood, it arrived in India recently with a number of women accusing men of sexual misconduct and harassment. The movement has taken the entertainment industry by storm with the likes of Tanushree Dutta, Sandhya Mridul and Vinta Nanda opening up about the harassment they suffered at the hands of men. Recently, actor Suniel Shetty extended his support for the movement and said, "This should have would have happened before. I support it completely and this has been going on in various other industries too. The consequences, sometimes, can be really bad but people are getting to know about it which will also help them in the future. The law will take its course." Lauding the movement during the Lotus Make-up India Fashion Week 2018 (LMIFW), actor Prachi Desai quipped that India has finally woken up. "It's wonderful to be a part of this particular generation as now people are not only talking but listening to women. One should be responsible and think from a different point of view. No women will lie about it," she added. Here's what others said: Yami Gautam- "It is not just a campaign; it is a global movement which should not be restricted to a definite timeline. It is not isolated in one industry and I am so glad that all the girls who have spoken up are so courageous. Whatever we are reading is really depressing and disgusting. The biggest problem is the fear to lose. We do not have the power to change the law, but we can, in the swing of this movement, create some difference." Vikas Bahl controversy: Hrithik Roshan urges ‘Super 30’ producers to take ‘hard stand’ against him Athiya Shetty- I have been reading about it and, as a girl, am deeply affected by it. It takes a lot for a person who has been abused to come out and say and we should not judge them. It is a great initiative and we should support them. We also need to be responsible for it. Tanisha Mukherjee- I strongly believe in women empowerment. I like this movement. I believe injustice is done to many and people should come out for support. Many from the industry, including Farhan Akhtar, Ajay Devgn, Emraan Hashmi, and Taapsee Pannu have voiced their support for the ongoing movement. #MeToo: After Sajid Khan stepping away, now Nana Patekar dropped from ‘Housefull 4’
