Rani Mukerji’s latest release 'Mardaani 2', featuring Vishal Jethwa as antagonist, is riding high on critical appreciation as well as love from audience. Inspired by shocking true crimes against women by juveniles, 'Mardaani 2' has done strong business on the first weekend. Despite clashing with 'Jumanji' and 'The Body', 'Mardaani 2' continued to set the cash registers ringing and has witnessed a good growth on third day as well.


On Sunday (15th December), the Gopi Puthran directorial has collected Rs. 7.80 Crore thereby making the grand total to Rs. 18.15 Crore.

Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the fulm's second day box office collection on Twitter. He wrote, "#Mardaani2 has a power-packed weekend... Admirable growth on Day 2 and 3 demonstrates power of solid content... Solid trending indicates, #Mardaani2 should stay strong on weekdays... Mardaani 2’s incredible weekend collections indicates that the film is set to have a good hold on weekdays.

The edge-of-the-seat thriller sees Rani in a race against time to capture a brutal serial rapist who systematically targets women. Rani is reprising the role of the fearless and committed Superintendent of Police, Shivani Shivaji Roy in the film. She had delivered a knock-out performance in hugely acclaimed prequel, Mardaani, in which tackled the issue of child trafficking.
