National-award-winning actress Kangana Ranaut has become the controversy's favorite child & her upcoming film 'Manikarnika - The Queen of Jhansi' is in the news for another wrong reason. After the hullabaloo regarding the director credits for the movie, the latest reports suggested that actor Sonu Sood, who was playing a pivotal role in 'Manikarnika', has walked out of the film after a showdown with lead actress Kangana Ranaut. Now Kangana Ranaut, who is playing the role of warrior queen Rani Laxmi Bai in the film, has confirmed Sonu's exit.

Kangana Ranaut refutes the rumors of any showdown between her & 'Manikarnika' co-star Sonu Sood.

Manikarnika star Kangana Ranaut says, 'I believe in taking the road less travelled'

Speaking about the same, the 'Fashion' actress told an entertainment portal that, "Sonu and I haven't even met since the last shot with Krish (director) last year. He is busy filming Simmba. He couldn't even give us tentative dates to match combinations with other actors. The producers showed him the film and writers narrated the patchwork to him...he refused to meet me ...he vehemently denied to work under a woman director..... which is kind of amusing because Sonu is a dear friend and I have even launched the music of a film that he produced on his request..... even though the team suggested that they have full faith in me, it seems, Sonu had neither dates nor faith."

She added, "And when I last spoke to him he suggested that I can go ahead with someone else and when I narrated the script to Zeeshan Ayyub he called the studio and gave the dates. By that time it was too late as Zeeshan gave me dates for September. Now I hear I had a showdown with him..... when I never met him, never directed him ..... when did I have this showdown?"

Now, the film's team will have to re-shot the sequences featuring Sonu Sood with his replacement.

'Manikarnika' also features Atul Kulkarni as Tatya Tope and Ankita Lokhande as Jhalkarbai and the situation has surely turned chaotic for the film's makers as well as the actors.

The film was said to be releasing on Republic Day weekend next year clashing with Hrithik Roshan's 'Super 30'. But now it has to be seen if the makers will change the date or not!
