Imtiaz Ali's latest film 'Love Aaj Kal', featuring Kartik Aaryan & Sara Ali Khan in lead roles, finally hit the screen this Friday (February 14) and everyone was expecting it to perform well at the box-office as the romantic film released on Valentine's Day 2020. Despite getting mixed reviews, 'Love Aaj Kal' took a good opening and turned out to be the second biggest opener of this year till now by collecting Rs. Rs. 12.40 crore on the first day. However, the film has witnessed a dip on Saturday.

On the second day of its release, 'Love Aaj Kal' has collected Rs. 8.01 Crore thereby making the grand total to Rs. 20.41 crore.

Bollywood trade analyst and critic Taran Adarsh shared 'Love Aaj Kal' second day box office collection on Twitter. He wrote, "#LoveAajKal dips on Day 2... Shocking part is, the decline has come at metros/multiplexes, which is its target audience... Weak at Tier-2 cities as well as mass circuits... Needs a miracle to salvage the show on Day 3... Fri 12.40 cr, Sat 8.01 cr. Total: ₹ 20.41 cr. #India biz."

Valentine's Day boosted the collections on first day and trade pundits were expecting a slight dip on second day, however the decline is more than expected. Now, it'll be interesting to see how the film will fare on Sunday.

For the uninitiated, Imtiaz Ali has earlier directed another film with the name 'Love Aaj Kal'. The original 'Love Aaj Kal' released in 2009 and featured Sara's father Saif Ali Khan in lead role alongside Deepika Padukone.
