New Delhi: Laxman Utekar responded to a query over the inclusion of actress Katrina Kaif in his film, 'Zara Hatke Zara Bachke', which he is now preparing for release. In a recent interview, Laxman explained why he was unable to cast Katrina opposite her actor-husband Vicky Kaushal, who plays the male lead in Zara Hatke Zara Bachke. According to Laxman, Katrina is unable to portray the part of a "middle-class joint family daughter-in-law."
‘Zara Hatke Zara Bachke’ is a charming family-friendly drama that delves into the unconventional romance between Kapil (Vicky Kaushal) and Soumya (Sara Ali Khan). From the trailer, it looks like a nice dose of humour and romance. The story is about a humorous divorce and family turmoil.
During an interview with Peeping Moon, Laxman Utekar said, "Meri language Katrina ko samajh aayegi tabhi kar paunga (laughs). Aapko lagta hai Katrina kabhi small town ki heroine lagegi (I can do only if Katrina understands my language. Do you think Katrina will look like a small town heroine)? If we get a good script, I would love to work with Vicky and Katrina."
He also added, "I wouldn't get them onboard this time because Zara Hatke Zara Bachke is in a different space and I feel Katrina ka joh aura hai and personality hai, mujhe personally laga nahi ki voh ek middle-class joint family ki bahu lag sakti hai. Agar future mein aisa kuch banega joh unko suit karega toh kyun nahi (The aura and personality Katrina has I personally didn't feel she can look like a middle-class joint family daughter-in-law. If there is anything in the future that will suit them then why not)."
'Zara Hatke Zara Bachke' actors Vicky Kaushal and Sara Ali Khan are currently busy promoting the film in full swing. The actors were recently in Lucknow after attending the IPL Finale match in Ahmedabad.
Directed by Laxman Utekar and produced by Dinesh Vijan's Maddock Studios, ‘Zara Hatke Zara Bachke’ will premiere on June 2, 2023.
