New Delhi: The premiere of 'Kushi,' starring Vijay Deverakonda and Samantha Ruth Prabhu, was met with poor reviews and attendance. The movie was released on September 1st, a week before Shah Rukh Khan's 'Jawan.' The first day of 'Kushi' was surprisingly good at the Indian box office, bringing in a whopping Rs 15.25 crore. However, it had a disappointing first weekend at the box office, earning less money than it did on its opening day. The film could bring a total of Rs 24.25 crore in three days.

On Saturday, Kushi's occupancy was at 53% in Telugu-speaking areas and 45% in Tamil-speaking areas as per industry tracker Sacnilk. The film earned only Rs 9 crores on the second day.

The total collection of the movie so far was posted on the film's official X (previously Twitter) page by producer Mythri Movie Makers. They captioned, "#BlockbusterKushi smashes 51 CRORES in 2 days worldwide. Families showering all their love on the BLOCKBUSTER FAMILY ENTERTAINER. #Kushi is setting the ticket windows on fire in international and local circuits."

Trade analyst Ramesh Bala shared that Vijay Deverakonda’s movie reached one million at the US box office.

The review of the film on ABP Live reads: The most recent 'Kushi' equivalent in Hindi was 'Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani' and for what it's worth, Karan Johar's film feels like a way better modern and informed take on marriages between polar opposites and their ideologies. Vijay Deverakonda and Samantha Ruth Prabhu fans can watch the film for their chemistry, which looks and feels great in some sequences( like the Honeymoon phase in the film) but for other stuff like a genuinely good movie; 'Kushi' is not the film one would vouch for.

'Kushi' is available to watch in Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam. The film follows the romance between an army soldier and a Kashmiri girl in the picturesque setting of snowy Jammu & Kashmir. This is Vijay and Samantha's second film together following the 2018 Telugu biographical drama ‘Mahanati’.
