Karan Johar's acting debut at age 16 in 1989 Doordarshan's Sci-Fi show 'Indradhanush'; Was ragged in college for his acting too! Watch it!

Recenlty seen playing a baddie in 'Bombay Velvet', many think KJo made his bollywood debut with 'DDLJ'  in 1995 but NO! A new & unseen video from 27 years ago about KJo was revealed on Zee TV's talk show 'Yaaron Ki Baraat' hosted by Sajid Khan and Riteish Deshmukh that launched this weekend. Sajid, his sister and director Farah Khan, Karan Johar & Riteish Deshmukh on 'Yaaron Ki Baraat' While the first episode on Saturday saw the biggies Amitabh Bachchan and Shatrughan Shinha, the second had the long time buddies Farah Khan and Karan Johar as guests on the show. The two talked about their friendship, life and played interesting games that tested their compatibility. During this host Sajid came up with a video clip of KJo's 27 years ago, from 1989 that proves it wasn't actually SRK-Kajol's 'Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge' but a TV show that Karan acted in first. The guests and the hosts, Farah, Karan, Riteish & Sajid are great buddies in real life and everybody indulged in major leg pulling after the clip was played...calling it actually hamming! The part that was played on screen during the show had Karan as a 16 year old bulky boy 'Shrikant' crying out loud and which embarrassed KJo so much that he kept his face covered with his hands for a while. Karan Johar embarrassed to watch himself hamming on DD show 'Indradhanush' at age 16 in 1989 44 year old Karan also revealed that this show was aired 2 years after it was made when he was in college at 18. Karan was ragged in college for the same too. Watch below:  'Indradhanush' was a children's television series, a mixture of Sci-Fiction and Fantasy, aired on DD National channel. The series aired on every Sundays, and was produced and directed by Anand Mahendroo. The story of group of kids, who assemble a computer. The computer becomes the host to an alien prince from a planet in the Andromeda Galaxy on the run from his enemies. The following events take a lot of weird turns, one of the kids (the lead character) gets kidnapped by one of the prince's enemies. The Prince gives them a Time-Travel machine. With this machine they try to see their past and rescue their friend. Produced and Directed by Aanand Mahendroo it cast Akshay Anand, Karan Johar, Jitendra Rajpal, Girish Karnad, Deepa Lagoo, Kamla Devi, Sridevi Mukhi, Ameesha Jhaveri, Vishal Singh, Sagar Arya.
