New Delhi: Filmmaker Karan Johar and actor Kangana Ranaut have been at loggerheads for quite some time now, and the latter often posts negative comments about the filmmaker on social media. Karan Johar seems ready to bury all the differences with the actor as he said in a recent event that he is excited to watch Kangana Ranaut’s directorial ‘Emergency.’

At the Express Adda session for The Indian Express, Karan was asked if he’d ever like to make a film about a political event. He replied, “The emergency is being made, and I am excited to watch it.”

In ‘Emergency,’ Kangana Ranaut is portraying the role of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.

Karan Johar on Gadar 2 success
Karan also spoke about the success of Sunny Deol starrer ‘Gadar 2’ and said, “Gadar has blown everyone’s brains away because it was a film which was hugely successful in 2001, and now in 2023, it is breaking every record. I have been so glad for the single screens.” Gadar 2 has minted ₹389 crore at the Indian box office, so far.”

Karan Johar-Kangana Ranaut feud
The feud between Kangana and Karan started in 2017 when she appeared on his chat show ‘Koffee With Karan’ and called him a ‘flagbearer of nepotism’ and ‘movie mafia’. Later in an event when Karan was asked about Kangana’s comment he had said, “When she (Kangana) says ‘movie mafia’ what does she mean, because what does she think we are doing, sitting and not giving her work? Is that what makes our mafia? No, we do that by choice. I do that because maybe I am not interested in working with her and that does not make me movie mafia, it makes me a man with an opinion. I appreciate that she had a great perspective and everyone lauded her for coming on my show. People said ‘she gave it off to Karan' and I would say of course, but I was gracious enough to take everything."

Since then, Kangana frequently comments about Karan Johar whereas the filmmaker has stopped reacting to her comments. Recently, Kangana took to her Instagram stories and wrote about the filmmaker’s latest film ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani.’ She wrote, “Audience can't be fooled anymore. They have rejected atrocious and creatively poor films full of fake sets and over the top fake costumes, who dresses like this in real life also where are tacky houses like those in Delhi??? What rubbish!!!! Shame on Karan Johar for copying his own vintage movies of the nineties… also how come he spend 250 cr on this stupidity? Who gives them this kind of money's while real talent struggle to get funds !!!”
