Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut took to Twitter to request I&B Minister Prakash Javadekar to put a ban on ‘blind items’, calling them as ‘online lynching’. She slammed the gossip articles and said that such pieces give the full description about a celebrity but no name, making it impossible for someone to take legal action against the publication. The ‘Queen’ star shared a series of tweets to express her displeasure over the ‘unreliable news’ and ‘blind items’.

Kangana talked about Sushant in her post and said that the ‘Dil Bechara’ actor mentioned how the ‘fake blinds made him depressed.’ She requested for stringent action against the portals which carry such pieces.

“Scumbag Bullywood still writing blind items, unknown sources, unreliable news, worse kind of public slandering and character assassinations one can face, Sushant mentioned fake blinds about him depressed him, need strong actions against such media portals,” Ranaut wrote on the micro-blogging site.

“Dear sir @PrakashJavdekar we need your help to clean the gutter Bullywood, this kind of gossip with full description of the subject but no names does not fit the bill for defamation there is no way we can fight it. It pushes vulnerable actors to drugs and depression. Pls help,” Kangana further wrote.

“Please put a ban on blind items this is online lynching, we have lost a bright young man to this bullying and harassment but no reforms are made, still people writing such creepy unverified news items causing public embarrassment and trauma to young men and women, please help us,” she added.

This is not the first time Kangana has slammed the practice of ‘blind items’. Last year, she posted a video on social media to question why such articles are not written against the star kids. The ‘Panga’, who has been quite vocal about the ‘unfair treatment’ of outsiders in the industry post Sushant’s death, pointed out several ‘blind items which were written against SSR' in the past.
