New Delhi: Bollywood celebrities including Ajay Devgn, Kangana Ranaut, Salman Khan, Karan Johar took to social media to express grief over the demise of Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat, his wife and 11 others in a chopper crash in the Nilgiri Hills, Tamil Nadu.
Kangana Ranaut, who was last seen in 'Thalaivii', shared a picture of late Rawat on her Instagram story along with a note. She mourned his demise and said that the country will always remain grateful to him for his service.

"Most horrible news of the year the demise of Sh. #BipinRawat and his wife in a tragic helicopter crash. The nation will always be grateful to Gen. Rawat for his service to the nation. Om Shanti. Jai Hind," Ranaut wrote.

"Just heard about the terrible chopper crash that has taken the life of our CDS Bipin Rawat ji, Mrs Rawat & other officers. Pray for all these braves who have lost their lives," veteran actress and politician Hema Malini tweeted.
Karan Johar expressed shock over the fatal chopper crash, which claimed 13 lives. He wrote, "Extremely shocked and saddened by the demise of General Bipin Rawat, his wife and the troops of the Indian Armed Forces. Saluting the brave & selfless service he has given to the nation while we mourn this untimely loss. Rest in power."
Ajay Devgn, who played an IAF officer in 'Bhuj: The Pride Of India', offered his condolence to the families of the deceased. "Grieved to know about the untimely demise of Gen. Bipin Rawat, his wife Madhulika Rawat, and his troops of the Indian Armed Forces. My deepest condolences to all their families," the 'Golmaal' star wrote on the micro-blogging site.
The official Twitter handle of Indian Air Force (IAF) shared a post on Wednesday evening to confirm that General Rawat and his wife Madhulika Rawat were among the thirteen people, who died in a fatal chopper crash on December 8.
