New Delhi: Mumbai Police summoned Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut and her sister Rangoli Chandel in connection with the sedition case registered against them following an order from the Bandra Magistrate Court. While the 'Panga' actress was asked to appear before the Bandra Police on November 23, her sister was called for questioning on November 24. We have received exclusive information that Kangana and her sister haven't responded to the notice served by the Mumbai Police.  The Mumbai Police officials have served three notices to the sisters duo in the matter.

Bandra Police had summoned Kangana twice but the 'Queen' actress, in her reply through lawyer Rizwan Siddhiqui, sought time till November 15 to appear before the concerned authorities as she was busy with her brother Aksht's wedding. Aksht Ranaut tied the knot with Ritu Sangwan in Udaipur on November 12, 2020. Kangana had shared several photos and videos from the ceremony.

Last month, casting director and fitness trainer Munnawar Ali Sayyed registered a complaint against Kangana and Rangoli and accused them of creating hatred and disrupting communal harmony through their posts on social media. The Bandra Magistrate Court directed the police to investigate the complaint in which Sayyed alleged that sisters attempted to promote enmity between communities through their posts.

Kangana and Rangoli were booked under various sections of the IPC including 153A (promoting enmity between different groups), 295A (deliberate and malicious act to outrage religious feelings of any class by insulting their religion) and 124A (sedition).

Earlier in the day, the 'Manikarnika' actress shared a picture with her nephew Prithviraj on Twitter and Instagram. The caption for the post read, "When we left for the shoot, he said don’t go, I insisted I need to work, he looked thoughtful and immediately sat in my lap and said smilingly....ok you go but let me sit with you for two mins.... still get tears thinking about his face."

Kangana's ugly spat with the Shiv Sena grabbed several eyeballs few months ago. The 'Judgementall Hai Kya' actress had alleged that Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut issued her an open threat and asked her not to come back to Mumbai.  She arrived in the Maximum City on September 9 amid protests for the party workers at the airport. Ahead of her arrival, a BMC team demolished parts of her bungalow, citing 'illegal proportions'. The 'Fashion' actress moved the Bombay High Court to stop the demolition drive.

On the professional front, Kangana will be next seen in 'Thalaivi' in which she will play the role of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa. The National Award winning actress also has ' Dhaakad' and 'Tejas' in pipeline.
