New Delhi: Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut, who played the role of Rani Lakshmibai in 'Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi', will be seen in a warrior avatar once again. Yes, you read that right! The 'Panga' actress will essay the role of Queen Didda in 'Manikarnika Returns: The Legend Of Didda'. The makers announced the second installment of the 'Manikarnika' franchise on Thursday (January 14).

Kangana will collaborate with Kamal Jain, who produced 'Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi'. According to a report in a news agency, the producers have plans to raise the bar and make a 'world class franchise of real life women heroes'. The period drama will be mounted on an international scale, the report in IANS said.

The 'Queen' star met Kamal Jain last week and they have locked the script. The cast and crew are expected to commence shooting for the film in January 2022 after Kangana completes her other professional commitments. The 'Fashion' actress shared a post on social media to announce her next film.



For the uninitiated, Didda was the Queen of Kashmir who defeated Mehmood Ghaznavi twice in the battlefield.  Even though she was affected by polio in her leg during childhood, Didda was considered as one of the greatest warriors in history of the country.

On the professional front, Kangana Ranaut will be next seen in 'Thalaivi'. She will be seen as former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa in the biographical film. The A. L. Vijay directorial will hit the silver screens in three different languages- Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. The much-awaited flick was originally slated to hit the silver screens in 2020; however, it got delayed due to the COVID-19 crisis.

Kangana also has 'Dhaakad' and 'Tejas' in her kitty. The Pahadi beauty will be seen playing the role of a spy in the action thriller 'Dhaakad'. She will be seen in the character of Air Force pilot in Ronnie Screwvala's 'Tejas'.
