Veteran actor Kamal Haasan underwent a successful follow-up surgery on his leg on Tuesday (January 19). His daughter Shruti Haasan issued a statement on social media to provide an update about the ‘Chachi 420’ actor’s health. The actress said that Kamal Haasan would return home in four to five days. She thanked the fans and well-wishers for their love, support and prayers and revealed that her father will be able to interact with the people after recuperating from the surgery.


"We would like to begin by thanking you for your overwhelming support, prayers and genuine concern regarding our father recent medical procedure. We are happy to inform all of you that the surgery was a success! The surgery was performed on his leg this morning at Sri Ramachandra Hospital performed by orthopedic suregon Dr. Mohan Kumar along with Dr. J.S.N Murthy. The doctors, attendees and the hospital management are taking wonderful care of our father and he is doing well, is in good spirits and working towards a speedy recovery," the statement read.


"A heart felt thank you from us for all your prayers for his well-being and the immense love showered on him. We are grateful that your good energy will be a big part of his speedy recovery," Shruti said.



Kamal Haasan had shared a letter on his official Twitter handle to inform the fans about his surgery. The 'Indian' actor revealed that he underwent a surgery on his leg after meeting with an accident a few years back.


 "Due to an accident a few years back, I had undergone a surgery on my leg. In continuation to that surgery, I was required to undergo a follow up surgery. The doctors had advised me to take rest till then. I undertook my professional and political responsibilities superseding the advise given, to enable me to reach out to my brothers and sisters," the letter read.


The 'Hey Ram' actor underwent the surgery after wrapping up the shoot of his popular reality show 'Bigg Boss Tamil 4'.


On the professional front, Kamal Haasan has two big projects in his kitty including Shankar’s 'Indian 2' and Lokesh Kanagaraj’s 'Vikram'.
