New Delhi: The Delhi Police on Thursday (February 27) sealed Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Councillor Tahir Hussain’s house and factory. Tahir found himself in the middle of controversy after IB staffer Ankit Sharma’s family members alleged that the AAP leader was involved in his death. Ankit's family members of the IB staffer have reportedly accused Hussain of plotting his death. However, in a video shared by AAP national social head, Tahir claimed that he was not present in his house for two days.

Hussain denied any involvement in the riots or killing of Sharma and called for an impartial probe into the incident.

Veteran lyricist Javed Akhtar, who had earlier condemned the violence in North-east Delhi, took to Twitter to question the Delhi Police over sealing of Tahir’s house and factory.

“So many killed, so many injured, so many house burned, so many shops looted so many people turned destitutes but police has sealed only one house and looking for his owner. Incidentally his name is Tahir. Hats off to the consistency of the Delhi police," Akhtar wrote on the micro-blogging site.

Over 30 people, including police head constable, have lost their lives while several people have sustained injuries in the clashes that spiralled into mob violence in North-east Delhi.
