New Delhi: Actor Jr NTR’s upcoming yet-untitled Telugu film 'NTR 30' was officially launched on Thursday with a pooja ceremony. The film, directed by Koratala Siva, also marks the Telugu debut of Janhvi Kapoor.
Filmmaker S.S. Rajamouli gave the first clap to the film. Apart from Rajamouli, KGF director Prashanth Neel also attended the event as one of the main guests.
Pictures and videos from the launch have taken over social media by storm. In one photograph, NTR Jr and Janhvi are seen shaking hands. A clip shows the Telugu star welcoming the daughter of late star Sridevi, who looked gorgeous in a lime green saree and a matching blouse.
In another video, NTR Jr and Janhvi are standing alongside Rajamouli on the stage as he gave the first clap shot and announced the beginning of the shoot.
Janhvi also took to Instagram and shared pictures from the sets of the movie. She wrote, “Happy day ❤️☀️🙏🏼The start of the most special journey #NTR30 🧿.”
NTR is reuniting with Koratala Siva for 'NTR 30' after Janatha Garage. Other details about the film are still under wraps.
ETimes gave details of Janhvi’s role in the film. “In Kortala Siva’s film Jahnvi has a lot to do. It’s not just a decorative role. The producers were very keen to sign her. They approached Janhvi through her father producer Boney Kapoor who wanted to know what was being offered before considering it. Only after knowing Jahnvi’s role did Boney say yes on Janhvi’s behalf,” ETimes quoted its source as saying.
The report also stated that Jr. NTR and Janhvi are introverts but seem very comfortable in each other’s company.
Jr NTR in a recent interaction with media had jokingly said that he would quit films if people keep asking him about his next projects. When asked about his next project, Jr. NTR said, "I am not doing any movies. If you ask repeatedly, I’ll stop doing movies."
On a more serious note, he immediately added that he has no plans to do this and will soon be back on screen.
