Deepika Padukone, who worked with Irrfan Khan in ‘Piku’, is heartbroken over his sudden demise. Unlike other celebs, DP didn’t share a picture with him but opted to share a blank post along with the caption, “#irrfankhan.”
Irrfan and Deepika’s sizzling chemistry in ‘Piku’ won several hearts. The Shootjit Sircar directorial was a big hit with the audience and raked in big moolah at the box office.
Irrfan played the role of Rana Chaudhary in ‘Piku’, who is stuck between the father-daughter duo of Bhashkor and Piku as they embark a journey from Delhi to Kolkata.

Earlier in the day, Amitabh Bachchan offered his condolence on Twitter. Big B tweeted, “just getting news of the passing of Irfaan Khan .. this is a most disturbing and sad news .. Folded hands. An incredible talent .. a gracious colleague .. a prolific contributor to the World of Cinema .. left us too soon .. creating a huge vacuum .. Prayers and duas Folded hands.”
Irrfan Khan, last seen in 'Angrezi Medium', was laid to rest at Versova burial ground on Wednesday afternoon. Kapil Sharma, Mika Singh and Vishal Bharadwaj attended the funeral to offer their last respect.
"Irrfan was buried at the Versova kabrastan in Mumbai at 3 pm this afternoon soon after the news of his passing away was announced. In presence were his family, close relatives and friends. Everyone paid their final respects and mourned the loss of his passing away. We pray for his peace and we hope he's in a better place today. He was strong in his fight, and we all have to be strong too in this loss," an official statement from actor's spokesperson read.
