Mumbai: Producer Ryan Stephen who has bankrolled movies like ‘Indoo Ki Jawani’ and others, passed away in Goa today (May 29, 2021). Reportedly, the producer breathed his last after fighting the battle against COVID-19.


Ryan Stephen also produced the popular short film ‘Devi’ which starred Kajol, Shruti Haasan, Neha Dhupia, Neena Kulkarni, Mukta Barve, Shivani Raghuvanshi, Yashaswini Dayama, Sandhya Mhatre and Rama Joshi.

'Indoo Ki Jawani' director Abir Sengupta confirmed his death to ABP News, stating that Ryan had been living in Goa for the past several days and was admitted to a hospital due to COVID-19. He died this morning in the hospital. Abir Sengupta told ABP News that he was about 50 years of age and was a very cheerful person.


As soon as the news of Ryan Stephen’s passing away broke out, many celebrities including Alia Bhatt, Kiara Advani, Varun Dhawan, Manoj Bajpayee and others offered their condolences to the producer.

Manoj Bajpayee retweeted Suparn S Varma’s tweet which read, “Life is cruel! But you were kind! @ryanmstephen thank you for your compassion in a ruthless world. I’m glad we undertook a journey on a few stories, the joy in writing them was because of you. You leave behind so many who loved you. Cook up a storm my friend. God bless you”. ‘The Family Man 2’ shared the tweet and wrote, “It’s so so shocking for all of us who knew this gentle soul .It really can’t be true!! I will miss you my friend RYAN”.



Dia Mirza also tweeted, “Heartbroken. One of the nicest human beings i’ve ever known”.
