Team India pulled off a remarkable 328-run chase against Australia in the fourth innings to secure victory in the fourth test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Ajinkya Rahane led team ended the 32-year-old dominance of the Kangaroos at Gabba by defeating them by three wickets to clinch the series 2-1. Several Bollywood and TV celebs took to social media to congratulate the winning team on the landmark victory.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also wished team India on Twitter. He tweeted, "We are all overjoyed at the success of the Indian Cricket Team in Australia. 'Rang De Basanti' actor Siddharth posted a series of tweets to congratulate the team. He shared pictures on the micro-blogging site to reveal how he watches cricket match at his home. The actor wrote, "What a classic! Never forget! From 36 all out to first time in 38 years. Pant, Che Pu, Washi, Siraj, Shardul and of course our Cap'n Jinks!! CHAMPIONS."



Riteish Deshmukh tweeted, "India Zindabad .....proud of you Team India - this is a huge huge win. Congratulations Captain."



TV actress Nikita Dutta expressed her excitement on social media. She wrote, "History was just made!!!! What a win India!!! I want to scream on a loud speaker!"

The Board of Control for Cricket in India has announced Rs 5 Crore for the squad as winning bonus. BCCI President Sourav Ganguly extended warm wishes to team India and said that the victory will be remembered in the history of Indian cricket. He wrote, "Just a remarkable win...To go to Australia and win a test series in this way ..will be remembered in the history of indian cricket forever ..Bcci announces a 5 cr bonus for the team ..The value of this win is beyond any number ..well done to every member of the touring party."



The victory is quite special for team India as they were playing without their skipper Virat Kohli. Kohli took a break from the Australian schedule for the birth of his first child. The Indian Cricket team captain and Anushka Sharma became parents of a baby girl on January 11.
