Hocus Focus Review: Writer-director Paierry Dodeja’s Hocus Focus is one of the finest suspense thrillers shot in Taj city Agra.
Plot
The story belongs to a guy who plots a crime by using some spy cameras. With the help of one of his friends, he installs a few cameras in someone’s house and a few outdoor cameras to follow the crime theme. First, he installs the spycam inside his neighbour, Miss Khan, who is in the business of paid sex. She calls the potential customers at her home for the same, which has unfortunately been noticed.
The first blackmail starts with Miss Khan, followed by an inspector and a few others. He plans a bank robbery, to be done by the people blackmailed by him. Each crime leads to another and then yet another, and the characters are caught in a loop. Does he really become successful in blackmailing all of them? Does this bank robbery become successful? To know the answers to all such questions, one must watch the film.
Writer-director Paierry Dodeja has tried his level best to use technology in this suspenseful crime thriller. The best use of a spycam can be seen in this film, which is used for such a big crime as bank robbery.
Performance
Actor Satinder Singh Gahlot’s performance is highly appreciable. He has done justice to his part, and apart from him, other artists like Succhi Kumar, Sona Bhandari, etc. have also impressed the audience by giving their best.
Music does not play a major role in this suspense thriller, but the background score is quite impressive. Taj Mahal is beautifully captured by the cinematographer.
Conclusion
Although the movie has many flashback scenes, the director has smartly written on the screen about the scene and its background from time to time so that the audience can relate one sequence to another. Initially, the audience may get confused in finding connections from one scene to another, but as the film approaches its peak, everything gets clear.
Technically, the film has many twists and turns, but no continuity issue is observed. This is a must-watch for the audience that loves to watch suspense thrillers.
Rating: 3/5 stars.
