He Didn't Want To Escalate: Shah Rukh Khan's Friend On Actor's Silence On Son Aryan Khan's Arrest
Shah Rukh Khan's friend Viveck Vaswani recently spoke about the actor's lack of reaction to Aryan Khan's drug arrest, which became one of the biggest controversies of 2021.
New Delhi: Shah Rukh Khan's friend Viveck Vaswani recently spoke about the actor's lack of reaction to Aryan Khan's drug arrest. Son of Shah Rukh and Gauri Khan, Aryan was charged with narcotics possession. Aryan Khan's arrest, which became one of the biggest stories of the year, was handled with grace, according to SRK's friend.
In October 2021, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) detained Aryan Khan in connection with a purported drug raid on a cruise ship off the coast of Mumbai. Until the Bombay High Court approved bail, he spent 25 days behind bars. Aryan was given a clean chit by the NCB in 2022 after he was on October 30, 2021.
Shah Rukh and his family remained silent throughout the media investigation. Viveck Vaswani, an actor and producer who has known the Pathaan actor since they were children, commented on the situation to Connect FM Canada, saying, "I think he did not want to escalate it (the issue), he didn't open his mouth, neither did Aryan, Gauri, or Suhana. It is called grace and dignity."
Aryan's supposed involvement in a drug case was only mentioned once by Shah Rukh. During a 'Ask SRK' session on Twitter, a fan asked him what pushes him to overcome the obstacles he has 'faced so far'. Shah Rukh responded by saying, "One has to believe that good will always outweigh the bad."
Shah Rukh adopted many strategies to evade the media and paparazzi whenever he was out and about after Aryan got released from prison. He chose to engage with fans on Twitter instead of using the media to promote Pathaan, even during its release. Later during a press meet following the film's success, the actor said, ""This is an experience that’s yet to sink in. Maybe we will be more grateful to God. There were times when we had to make calls to people to make them release the film with ease and they did that. I want my films to release with love."
Meanwhile, Aryan Khan is working on the script of his first directorial venture. He has decided not to step into his father's shoes and don the director's hat, instead.
