Parineeti Chopra will be seen in a different avatar in the much-awaited flick as she is playing the role of an alcoholic divorcee, who somehow gets involved in a missing person's investigation.

Story Of 'The Girl On The Train'


The movie is the official Hindi remake of Hollywood psychological thriller 'The Girl On The Train'. The flick was based on Paula Hawkins's bestselling novel of the same name. Emily Blunt played the role of a Rachel, who is deeply affected by her broken marriage and hence, she travels aimlessly on a train to New York on a daily basis. How she gets embroiled into a murder mystery forms the crux of the story. Parineeti will be essaying the role of Meera in the highly anticipated film.

Release Date Of 'The Girl On The Train'


The movie, directed by Ribhu Dasgupta, was originally slated to hit the silver screens in 2020; However, it got delayed due to the COVID-19 crisis. 'The Girl On The Train' will premiere directly on February 26, 2021 on Netflix. The OTT platform has promised the audience to take them on a 'never before seen train journey'.

The film also stars Aditi Rao Hydari, Kirti Kulhari, Avinash Tiwary and Sammy Jonas Heaney. It remains to be seen if the makers are able to do justice to the novel or not.
