Gangubai Kathiawadi: Alia Bhatt's First Look Posters From Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Film Are OUT!

Alia Bhatt was earlier supposed to collaborate with Sanjay Leela Bhansali in 'Inshallah' starring Salman Khan however the film got shelved post which they now united for 'Gangubai Kathiawadi'.

New Delhi: Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt and filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali have finally teamed-up for 'Gangubai Kathiawadi' which is one of the most-awaited films of the year. Alia & Bhansali were earlier supposed to work together in 'Inshallah' featuring Salman Khan however the film got shelved and the duo then announced 'Gangubai Kathiawadi'. Alia Bhatt, who was last seen in 'Kalank', began shooting for Bhansali's film last month and the actress has now finally shared her two contrasting looks from the biographical drama.

Alia Bhatt took to her social media account today (January 15) and shared her first look posters from 'Gangubai Kathiawadi' with fans. She tweeted, "Here she is, Gangubai Kathiawadi ???? #SanjayLeelaBhansali @bhansali_produc @prerna982 @jayantilalgada @PenMovies #GangubaiKathiawadi" Take a look at her post below: In the first poster, Alia as young 'Gangubai' looks vulnerable with her innocent expressions and braids. Whereas, her transformation as a mafia queen in the second poster looks impressive. Isn't she looking stunning with dark kohled eyes and a big red bindi? On a related note, this will be the first time Alia will be collaborating with Bhansali, who has previously given blockbusters such as "Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela", "Bajirao Mastani" and "Padmaavat". Bhansali Productions has collaborated with Jayantilal Gada's Pen India Ltd for the film. 'Gangubai Kathiawadi' is based on Hussain Zaidi's book 'Mafia Queens of Mumbai'. The story of the movie revolves around Gangubai Kothewali, a brothel owner and matriarch. It is slated to hit the theatres on September 11 this year. Keep watching this space for more updates!
