New Delhi: In Bollywood song remakes have always been a big pull for hooking the audience. In the recent past, there have been many old tunes that have been rejigged into new numbers with added melodies and raps. In few other films the profound lyrics merged with the narrative of the storyline has helped express what words can’t. While some have been shoved deep under the carpet, there are others that have caught the interest of listeners and got the them grooving and nostalgic at the same time. Here is a list of 5 such songs that have captured our attention and got us excited about the film.

1. Tamma Tamma Again

Originally from the movie ‘Thaanedar’, this song was recreated as a tribute to the previous one. With a part of the original playing in the remix as well, the song ‘Tamma Tamma Again’ from ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya was a runaway success and became a huge hit amongst the younger generation.

2.  Sheher Ki Ladki

Raveena Tandon and Suneil Shetty’s peppy number ‘Sheher Ki Ladki’ was a massive success in the 90’s. Recreating this with her melodious voice and his magical words, Tulsi Kumar and Badshah have recently released the new rendition for the upcoming film ‘Khaandani Shafakhana’, taking audiences by storm.

3. Ye Duniya Agar Mil Bhi Jaaye

Taking a bold move by recreating a Mohammad Rafi track, Yoodlee Films has stunned the listeners with the novel version of ‘Ye Duniya Agar Mil Bhi Jaaye’. Having fit it into the narrative of the story, the production house felt that this poignant number lends meaning to the emotions in the film ‘Noblemen’. With a tragic undertone, rehashed lyrics and faster instrumentation, the new version is disturbingly captivating. 4. Hungama Ho Gaya Kangana Ranaut’s upbeat versions of the old song ‘Hungama Ho Gaya’ created quite a hungama amongst listeners. Another song that camouflaged into the storyline while beautifully standing out as unique, this track has proved remakes are the contemporary future. The older generation were hit by nostalgia while the younger generation accepted it with complete innocence. 5. Dil Kya Kare An iconic tune from the golden age, Kishore Kumar’s ‘Dil Kya Kare’ was refabricated for the Hrithik Roshan and Yami Gautam starrer ‘Kaabil’. One of the few tunes that managed to evoke emotion even for the second time, ‘Dil Kya Kare’ oozes romance and love in every beat. Jubin Nautiyal’s beautiful vocals kept the essence of the song alive while giving it a makeover.
