Bollywood actress Taapsee Pannu, known for her acting prowess, walked away with the winner’s trophy of Best Actress at the 66th Filmfare Awards 2021. The talented actress took to social media to share a heartfelt post after winning her second Black Lady. She shared a video from the awards ceremony wherein she can be seen receiving the coveted award for her performance in the critically acclaimed film.
Taapsee beamed with joy while receiving the ‘Best Actress Award’ at the Filmfare Awards 2021. She mentioned the lyrics of ‘Ek Tukda Dhoop’ while sharing the video on her official Instagram handle.
“Kyunki ek tukda dhoop ka andar andar namm sa hai, #Thappad keeps leaving memories to cherish,” the caption for the post read.
Neena Gupta, Karan Tacker, Bhumi Pednekar, Kanika Dhillon extended their warm wishes to Taapsee in the comments section. Kanika wrote, ''So well deserved! Can’t keep calm .. so much happiness!! @taapsee."
Taapsee shared a picture of her Filmfare Award along with the caption, “Respect and Happiness. Thank you Amrita.” Her sister Shagun Pannu, Maniesh Paul, Anurag Kashyap, Mukesh Chhabra and other tinsel town celebs congratulated her on the post.
Taapsee was nominated in the category of 'Best Actress' along with Deepika Padukone (Chhapaak), Kangana Ranaut (Panga), Janhvi Kapoor (Kargil Girl) and Vidya Balan (Shakuntala Devi). The 'Judwaa 2' actress pipped the other leading ladies to claim the winner's trophy.
Anubhav Sinha's 'Thappad' won several awards includine the Best Male Playback Singer (Raghav Chaitanya for Ek Tukda Dhoop), Best Editing, Best Background Score and Best Sound Design.
On the professional front, Taapsee will be next seen in 'Haseen Dillruba' opposite Vikrant Massey. The mystery thriller will premiere directly on Netlfix.
