Mumbai: Farhan Akhtar, who is gearing up for the release of ‘Toofan’, is on cloud nine as the promo of his much-awaited film was featured on a billboard in Times Square in New York. The multi-talented artist shared his excitement with his fans on social media as he posted a clip of the video of the billboard which showcased Toofans’s promo.  


Farhan penned a heartfelt note, reminiscing his first visit to the Times Square in NYC. He said that he always wished to have his film represented at the major tourist destination.  


Akhtar thanked Amazon Prime Video for making his ‘dream come true’ and dedicated the achievement to his family, friends and fans in the United States. 


  “I remember the first time I went to Times Square in NYC, looking up at all those billboards and thinking wouldn’t it be cool to have a film represented here! Well, today that dream came true, courtesy Amazon Prime Video who are taking Toofaan across the Atlantic in all its powerful glory. To all my family, friends and fans in the US, this one is for you. #toofaanonprime #16thjuly,” the caption for the post read. 



Shibani Dandekar & Mrunal Thakur React To Toofan Featuring In Times Square's Billboard


Mrunal, who will be seen opposite Farhan, dropped a comment on his post. She lauded his dedication and hard work. "More power to you Farhan, for all that you’ve done and how hard you’ve worked! Your dedication and perseverance is commendable. It was meant to be, sooner or later and I can’t wait for the world to watch Toofaan," Thakur's comment read.


Farhan's girlfriend Shibani Dandekar is 'proud' of her beau, who will be seen as a boxer in 'Toofan'. She posted the video along with the caption, "Toofaan in Times Square!! Beast mode! @faroutakhtar so proud."



‘Toofan’, which also stars Paresh Rawal, Surpriya Pathak and Vijay Raaz, will premiere directly on Amazon Prime Video on July 16. The movie was initially slated to hit the silver screens on October 2, 2020; however, it got delayed due to the COVID-19 crisis.
