New Delhi: Sushant Singh Rajput’s hometown Purnea in Bihar has honoured the actor with a road named after him. According to media reports, a road and an intersection have been named after the actor who died of suicide last month. While the road will be called the Sushant Singh Rajput path, the intersection which was earlier called Ford Company Chowk has now been renamed as Sushant Singh Rajput chowk.

The step has been hailed by fans and a viral video shows their elation as many reached the spot to click pictures.


The 34-year-old Bollywood actor committed suicide last month at his Mumbai residence and was found hanging in his apartment in Bandra. The incident came as shock for everyone from his family to the industry.

The 'Kai Po Che' actor was under depression for several months and was also undergoing treatment for it. The investigation on his death is ongoing.

On June 29, auteur Shekhar Kapur was also called for his statement. Kapur gave a detailed statement through email since he was not in the city. The statement disclosed that the Rajput was shattered when his film ‘Pani’ with YRF was put off due to creative differences between the actor and the production house.

Shekhar Kapur also indicated that this was the possible reason for the actor battling depression. The actor's death has also raised questions over nepotism in Bollywood. Filmmaker Karan Johar also faced the wrath of the late actor's fans as they felt Rajput was not getting his fair share in the industry due to the prevailing nepotism.
