Both Sushant Singh Rajput and Shatrughan Sinha hail from Patna, Bihar. When the investigation of the late actor’s case was taken over by the CBI, Shatrughan Sinha said that justice should be delivered now. He said, "Sushant's death is not only heartbreaking, but also suspicious. Earlier we thought that it was a case of suicide but as things started to unfold, it seemed that the matter is questionable. Then we also demanded with everyone that the matter should be delivered to the CBI. I know this and believe that the CBI is impartial and the best agency to investigate such cases."

Apart from this, the ‘Vishwanath’ actor also talked about several cases which the CBI has failed to solve including the Aarushi murder case and the Jiah Khan death case. Talking about the ‘Dil Bechara’ actor’s case in such a situation, he further said, "In the case of Sushant, the screams and yearning of his family spread not in the entire country but in the whole world. In such a situation, all of us demanded a CBI inquiry so that the agency could get to the bottom of the case."

The ‘Dostana’ actor also opened up about the questions raised on the Mumbai Police investigation. Sinha said, "Sushant Singh's father, his sisters and entire family are very good people. Their yearning was justified as the matter was getting entangled day-by-day. Though the track record of Mumbai Police is very good, but with the matter getting entangled here, there was going to be a lot of delay as well. The CBI might also consume time in solving the case. It was the right step on his family’s part to demand a CBI investigation from the Chief Minister of Bihar Nitish Kumar.”

Several Bollywood biggies have remained silent on CBI's demand in Sushant Singh Rajput. Reacting to the same, Shatrughan Sinha said, "I was the first person from the film industry to raise voice in this matter and I believe that in a situation where injustice prevails, everyone should raise their voice fighting for justice.”
