Another bad news for the industry as after Irrfan Khan and Sonali Bendre, another talented actress has been detected with cancer. Singer-actress Suchitra Krishnamoorthi's elder sister Sujata Kumar, who is best known for playing late legendary actress Sridevi's sister 'Manu' in her comback film 'English Vinglish', is currently battling for her in Lilavati Hospital, Bandra, Mumbai. The film & TV actress has reportedly been diagnosed with metastatic cancer (metastasis) in 4th stage and multiple organ failure. In 2007, Sujata was diagnosed with breast cancer and after fighting against it, the actress emerged victorious against the dreadful disease. But now, the disease has resurfaced and it is indeed a terrible news.

Sujata is in ICU & her younger sister Suchitra revealed the same in a Facebook post. Suchitra also asked everyone to pray for her sister. She wrote, "It feels like somebody has plunged a hard cold knife into my heart and ripped the ground from under my feet as i sit outside the ICU and pray for my Suzie Puzie. My sister my mother my best friend my darling Sujata Kumar as she battles for her life inside. Please join me and my family in our prayers for her

On the career front, Sujata has been a part of various films as well as TV shows. She rose to fame with her role in Star One show 'Hotel Kingston'. After which, she did shows like 'Saat Phere', '24', 'P.O.W. Bandi Yuddh Ke' among others. Whereas, she was also a part of films like 'Raanjhaanaa' and 'Guzaarish'.

For the uninitiated, Metastasis is the medical term for cancer that spreads to a different part of the body from where it started. When this happens, doctors say the cancer has “metastasized.” Other names for metastasis are “metastatic cancer” and “stage 4 cancer.” Sometimes the term “advanced cancer” also describes metastatic disease, but this isn’t always true. For instance, “locally advanced” cancer is not the same as metastatic cancer. It describes cancer that has spread to nearby tissues or lymph nodes but not throughout the body.
